St. Leonard’s Hospital Trust is a Registered Charity who provide almshouse accommodation to necessitous persons of aged 60 and over who reside in the parishes of Newark, Balderton, Elston and Girton.

The Charity was founded in 1130 by Bishop Alexander of Lincoln and today has 68 units of accommodation and is managed by an appointed body of Trustees and their Clerk.  It is understood that St. Leonard’s Hospital Trust is one of the oldest active charities of its kind in the country.
